Have you ever wondered how to make a figurine out of fondant or gum paste? Check this video out to see step-by-step directions on how to put together a handsome gent who is ready to plant a big one on his lovely lady. This figurine was used as a decoration for this anniversary cake.
Items you will need for this project
- Satin Ice Fondant or homemade marshmallow fondant (video tutorial coming soon)
- Wilton Decorating Brush Set
- Wilton Gumpaste Modeling Tools
- Wilton Icing Gel
- X-ACTO knife
- Wilton Red Pearl Dust
Color the fondant to the desired color that you want and then shape and mold the head, body, arms, and feet. After shaping each of the body parts, I let them sit for 15 to 20 minutes to harden a bit so they hold their shape better once put together. I used Wilton brown color gel to add detail to the face (eyes and eyebrows), and Wilton red pearl dust color for the blush on the cheeks. I used spaghetti, toothpicks, and water to hook the body parts together. Let the figurine sit out for a day or two to completely dry and then use it on your cake. The joy about this project is you can shape and mold your figurine to look however you want and make it unique! Share your creations in the comments below, and as always, keep it creative.
